As an elite sport, MotoGP involves millions of euros, and there is always curiosity about the salaries of the riders. Like any other contractual matter, the numbers are confidential, but there are always estimates and rumors, with Marc Márquez being considered the highest-paid.

Numbers from the Sportspayouts site, quoted by Racesports.nl, show that the rider joining Gresini in 2024 received $16 million paid by Repsol Honda last year. That’s $11 million more than the two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who is second on the list with $5 million – as much as Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha).

A total of 14 of the 22 permanent riders reportedly pocketed at least one million dollars last year. Among the «others», the highest salary is said to be Miguel Oliveira’s (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team): $750,000. This is even more than the runner-up Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati), who is reported to have received $675,000.

The only rookie of the season was Augusto Fernández (GasGas Tech3/KTM), who was among the four who received the least – $300,000, just like Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini/Ducati), Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati), and Raúl Fernández (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team/Aprilia).

It’s impossible to confirm if these salaries correspond to reality, as it’s a confidential contract matter. The data compiled by Sportspayouts and quoted by Racesports.nl does not include bonuses or personal sponsorships.
