Pedro Acosta made an immediate impact in MotoGP. The rookie fought for the podium for much of the first race of the season in Qatar, and although he finished ninth, he was not intimidated.

In fact, he bounced back with a third-place finish at the Portuguese GP, followed by a second-place in Austin where he fought for the win and even led the race. Since then, he hasn’t returned to the top three in a main race, but in the Sprint races, he only missed the podium once.

Despite a dip in results, including his first errors and crashes with significant sporting consequences, Acosta continues to be very fast and impressive. In Italy, he returned to good results, with a third place in the Sprint race and a fifth place in the main race.

Currently, the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider is in fifth place in the championship and is the best among the four KTM riders – two positions ahead of Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM).

Carlo Pernat commented on Acosta’s form in statements to the website GPOne.com, asking for patience with the rookie: ‘Let’s wait for Acosta, who being a rookie might still have some problems, but he has shown that KTM is very competitive’.
