The World Superbike paddock returns to action this weekend with an absolute first on the calendar: the Cremona Circuit in Italy. The Superbike and Supersport categories will be in action, along with the Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship.

In the WSBK, the current leader, Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW), is absent due to injury and will be replaced by Markus Reiterberger. This presents a great opportunity for Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) to close the 55-point gap to the Turkish rider.

In fact, the Italian could even aim to take the championship lead: to do so, he will need to win both main races and finish in the top four in the Superpole race. Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati) currently sits in third, but he will need to watch out for Alex Lowes (Kawasaki), who is just eight points behind him.

In WSSP, Adrián Huertas (Aruba.it Ducati) leads by 14 points over Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team/Ducati), with another intense battle for the title expected between the two. Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Yamaha) is third, but already 50 points behind the top spot.

Cremona will also host the fourth round of the Women’s World Championship (WorldWCR). María Herrera (Klint Forward) has won four out of six races but is only seven points ahead of Ana Carrasco (Evan Bros. Yamaha), while Sara Sánchez (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team) sits third, 21 points behind.

It promises to be an exciting weekend in Italy. Check out all the schedule (CET time) for the Cremona round of the World Superbike, which you can follow available here on Motorcycle Sports.
