In recent years, the MXGP of Argentina has been held at the Villa La Angostura circuit, which hosted the first round of the MXGP and MX2 World Championships this year. However, it will not be on the calendar next year.
According to the website MX1Onboard, the circuit has already been sold, and the new owner does not intend to continue hosting the MXGP of Argentina—so much so that the track was dismantled after this year’s edition.
The solution might be the Otto Race Park in Cipolletti – a new circuit designed by Lucas De la Fuente, the same designer behind Villa La Angostura.
The first MXGP event at Villa La Angostura took place in 2015, with the event only missing 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. However, the first MXGP race in Argentina dates back to 1985 at the Salta circuit.
