Jorge Prado performed impressively this afternoon in Uddevalla, for the MXGP of Sweden, where he achieved a double victory. After several rounds of absence, the Swedish track marked the Spaniard’s return to winning ways, something that hadn’t happened since the first MXGP in Indonesia.
In the first race, the GASGAS rider finished with a 0.809s lead over Tim Gajser, while Romain Febvre (Kawasaki) managed to secure the last podium spot, crossing the finish line almost 7 seconds after the #1.
Jeremy Seewer (Kawasaki) and Jeffrey Herlings (KTM) completed the top five.
In the second race, Prado was again the fastest, but this time without as much excitement and suspense, as contrary to what happened before, no one was able to ride close to his pace.
Prado would end up finishing the race with a 14.445s lead over Herlings, who improved significantly, while Gajser dropped one position but still finished third on the podium.
Febvre also couldn’t match his previous result and finished fourth, ahead of Calvin Vlaanderen (Kawasaki).
With this result, Prado managed to regain ground in the world championship and now has 740 points, 17 less than leader Gajser, while Herlings is third with 709.
