The provisional entry list for the 2025 Moto3 World Championship was published on Wednesday, although it is still incomplete. There are two vacancies to be filled in the grid: one at Leopard Racing, and the other at the FleetSafe Honda-MLav Racing.

The entry-level class of the World Championships will feature several rookies, as well as returning riders. The top four finishers from this year will be promoted to Moto2, so the highest-ranked rider from 2024 who remains in Moto3 is fifth-placed David Muñoz, who moves to the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP team.

CFMOTO Aspar, which helped David Alonso claim the title, will have an entirely new rider lineup, consisting of rookie Máximo Quiles, who comes from the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, and Dennis Foggia, who is making the rare move down from Moto2.

This year’s Rookies Cup champion, Álvaro Carpe, will also make his Moto3 debut, joining the Red Bull KTM Ajo team, along with Valentin Perrone, who will race for Red Bull KTM Tech3. Of the top five finishers in the Rookies Cup, only Brian Uriarte and Rico Salmela are absent from the provisional entry list. However, as two slots remain open, they are not ruled out.

Eddie O’Shea will contest his first full season with FleetSafe Honda-MLav Racing after joining mid-season from the Indonesian GP this year.

From the FIM JuniorGP, in addition to Carpe and Quiles, Cormac Buchanan and Ruché Moodley will also join Moto3 with BOE Motorsports. Among the teams, there are no major changes except for slight adjustments to their respective designations. CFMOTO will no longer be represented as a constructor, with the bike now being a KTM – though it was already a KTM this year under the CFMOTO brand name.

The new visual identity of MotoGP was officially unveiled this Sunday. From the logo to the typography, the entire visual design has been revamped for 2025, marking the beginning of a new era.

The slogan is also new, now reading «Faster, Forward, Fearless», as MotoGP steps into what is being called «The MotoGP of Tomorrow».

In addition to the premier class, the same new branding has been applied to Moto2, Moto3, MotoE, and even MotoGP’s official eSports championship. Everything changes visually.

This radical transformation coincides with the expected acquisition of Dorna by Liberty Media. Take a look at the images of MotoGP’s new visual identity, as well as its explanation, through videos and images.

After images appeared in European patent authorities, the new visual identity and logos of the MotoGP World Championship were officially unveiled this Sunday.

The awards gala at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona marked the moment of unveiling what will now be the image of the motorcycle racing World Championships moving forward.

This change comes as the acquisition of Dorna by Liberty Media is also underway. The new logo was designed by the Pentagram agency. The visual identity, including the typography, was also altered under the motto «The MotoGP of Tomorrow».

Despite 75 years of history, this is only the third time the MotoGP logo has undergone a radical change. Until 2001, the foundation was the acronym FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), and the image changed with the introduction of the MotoGP era in 2002 — undergoing minor adjustments in 2007.

Better was practically impossible and David Alonso made history this morning in Barcelona by achieving his 14th victory, something no one had ever done before. The rider, world champion for a few rounds now, was naturally happy with the win and was enthusiastic and grateful for what’s to come, without forgetting the present.

Here’s Alonso’s reaction in parc ferme: ‘Thank you very much for supporting us. I was on the bike and seeing all the people supporting me and that made me push the pace on the last lap to the limit. Today I want to say goodbye to Moto3 and the bike that gave me everything in a positive way. I wanted to stay focused, it wasn’t easy today but I kept my concentration in the last laps and tried to do my best riding.’

The rider also recalled the future that will take him to Moto2:

– I’m happy and sad at the same time because this dream has come to an end, we just dreamed and woke up tomorrow when another chapter begins and it was a pleasure. I will always be grateful to life for giving me this opportunity and this experience and I would like to thank everyone who made getting here possible and who believed in me even more than I did.

And he concluded: ‘All the money from here goes to Valencia, everyone here is supporting, so come on Valencia!’.

David Alonso could not have wished for a better end to the year in Moto3, as he won the Barcelona Solidarity GP. This was the world champion’s 14th victory in the current season, in a race that was marked by the final punishment for Adrián Fernández, after he crossed the finish line in third.

With the category title already decided, it remained to be seen, among others, who would come second and third in the world championship, with Collin Veijer and Daniel Holgado tied with 236 points.

For today’s race, David Alonso started in pole position, with Veijer and Ivan Ortolá on the first row, Ángel Piqueras, Holgado and Luca Lunetta on the second.

Alonso had a great start and in the first moments of the race he was in the lead, with Ortolá in second, Holgado in third, Veijer in fourth and Piqueras already completing the top five. Stefano Nepa crashed at turn 4, involved with Lunetta. The Italian would later be penalized with a Long Lap for irresponsible riding.

David Muñoz, however, was moving up positions and with 17 laps to go he was already second, and Holgado had taken the lead. Adrián Fernández was also on the rise and was third.

In the following laps the positions continued to change constantly but Holgado remained the leader, but on that same lap Fernández reached the front, Holgado was second and Piqueras third.

A couple of laps later Taiyo Furusato was the fastest driver with a lap time of 1:47601s, he was ninth in the race at the time.

On the following lap there was another change in the leader with Holgado once again coming to the front of the race, and with Alonso now in sixth, being the author of the best lap (1:47.555s).

Fernández, however, ended up responding and reached the front again, where he remained until the last five laps where the usual “suspect” appeared: Alonso was once again at the front of the race.

The world champion only stayed ahead for one lap as Fernández returned to the lead. With three laps to go, this was the top five: Fernández, Muñoz, Holgado, Ortolá and Alonso.

On the following lap Alonso was once again in front and entered the last lap with almost 0.2s of advantage.

The race ended shortly after with Alonso completing another race at the front and thus ending the year with a flourish by winning in Barcelona – his 14th victory of the year – with Holgado in second and Fernández crossing the finish line in third. The Leopard Racing driver, however, was penalized three seconds for three cuts in turns 1 and 2, promoting Piqueras to the top three, with him finishing in 11th.

This Sunday, MotoGP is set to reveal its new visual identity. However, ahead of the official unveiling during the awards ceremony, the potential new logo may have already been leaked.

Recent trademark filings at the European Union Intellectual Property Office show logos for MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3, and MotoE registered in recent days by the legal representative Leggroup – also linked to documentation for the current logos.

While only one logo has been registered for the other categories, MotoGP has two submitted designs, one noticeably simpler than the other, as seen in the main image of this article.

Later today, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will officially present the new MotoGP logo and visual identity, designed by the Pentagram agency, during the awards gala at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona, scheduled for 19:30 (CET).

Iván Ortolá was the fastest this morning in the Practice 2 for the Moto3 Solidarity GP, marking the final practice session of the category this season. He managed to surpass champion David Alonso to take the top spot.

Throughout the session, there were constant leader changes. In the opening minutes, Adrián Fernández (Leopard Racing/Honda) showed impressive speed but was eventually overtaken by other riders.

After 11 minutes, Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) set a lap time that kept him at the top for over 15 minutes. However, the final three minutes of the session were frenetic, with multiple changes at the top. On his last lap, Ortolá (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM) clocked the best time with a 1m46.364s lap.

At that point, the leader had been Alonso (CFMOTO Valresa Aspar), who could not improve his time and ended up 0.075s behind Ortolá. Jacob Roulstone (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) took third place, followed by David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports/KTM) in fourth and Ángel Piqueras (Leopard Racing/Honda) in fifth.

Although the top two riders achieved their best times in this FP2 session, the combined classification was dominated by laps set in FP1 yesterday, which proved crucial for securing direct entry into the second phase of qualifying. The last rider to secure a spot was David Almansa (Kopron Rivacold Snipers Team/Honda) in 14th, just 0.059s ahead of Ryusei Yamanaka (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM).

Daniel Holgado led the first practice session of the Solidarity GP of Barcelona Moto3, with the final minutes being tightly contested. The Spaniard prevailed with one of his last attempts.

At the start of the session, Adrián Fernández (Leopard Racing/Honda) was leading after the first flying laps, but he was soon overtaken by Ryusei Yamanaka (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM), who set a series of three fast laps. After about 12 minutes, Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) took the top spot, where he remained for almost 20 minutes.

The Dutch rider was then surpassed by Yamanaka, who lost the position to José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) shortly after. Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) led for a brief moment before being immediately beaten by David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports/KTM).

However, Holgado reacted quickly and set the fastest time of the session: 1m46.568s. Muñoz didn’t improve and ended up in second place, 0.081s behind. Ángel Piqueras (Leopard Racing/Honda) took third, followed by Joel Kelso (BOE Motorsports/KTM) and Veijer in the top five. The champion, David Alonso (CFMOTO Valresa Aspar), finished 14th, 0.672s off the top.
