We’ve all heard one or two stories related to motorcycles or motorcyclists that are at least strange and worrying, but this one about Taddy Blazusiak took on proportions that could be (even more) serious and even resulted in a fatality.

Three days ago the Pole, a true legend of world off-road competitions, reported an attack by someone who intentionally set a real trap to intentionally hurt someone, and in this particular case Blazusiak was even very close to having his throat cut. And no, we are not exaggerating, as the rider himself made a point of explaining on social media:

‘I’m posting this to let the entire Off-road community know that there are people out there that are instable enough to intentionally hurt others just because they hate Motorcycles. So here’s what happened to me, riding a trail on the way to my riding spot on Monday 11 of november I caught a wire that someone intentionally hung across the trail’ the rider wrote.

The trap could have even had another outcome, as the polish explained: ‘Thankfully somehow I caught it in an angle coming out of a corner so I took it on my right shoulder and between my helmet chin piece and goggles , if that wire would slip down from the chin piece on to my neck most probably I wouldn’t be writing this post’.

And he concluded: ‘All good here I got stitched up by a plastic surgen so hoping my face muscles and the scar are going to be OK.
I just cant stop thinking of, what if I would caught it straight on my neck… I cannot understand how someone could do something like this to another person’.

Stark Future Racing is set to take on a significant challenge in the SuperEnduro World Championship: competing against combustion motorcycles with their fully electric Stark VARG. The team features elite riders Eddie Karlsson and Taddy Blazusiak.

The first round of the championship is scheduled for December 14th in Gliwice, Poland, with subsequent rounds taking place in Germany, Hungary, the UK, and France until March next year.

Blazusiak and Karlsson will compete in the Prestige category, the top tier of the competition. The challenge is substantial, as the Stark VARG will have to contend with limited power and extra weight compared to combustion bikes.

Anton Wass, CEO and founder of Stark Future, commented: ‘For the first time in history, electric bikes are lining up at the same gate and competing against combustion vehicles at a world championship level. We are very excited to start this journey in SuperEnduro racing. […]. Racing with extra weight and limited power will restrict our capabilities, but we will push ourselves to perform at the highest level possible within the limitations we’ve been given’.

On the fifth round of the SuperEnduro World Championship there were 17 thousand people at Budapest’s MVM Dome, witnessing another great, and winner, performance from Billy Bolt, in a day with some surprises.

In the first race Bolt (Husqvarna) ended first, followed by Walker (Beta), while the portuguese star Diogo Vieira (GASGAS) was third, beating Mitchell Brightmore (GASGAS) and Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM).

In the second winner was again Bolt, now with Vieira coming as runner-up, as Brightmore took the podium, with Lettenbichler in fourth and Walker in fifth.

As there is ‘never two without three’, Bolt once again got to win, with Walker coming in second, with Lettenbichler reaching his first podium. Brightmore was fourth, with Eddie Karlsson (Husqvarna) to be fifth.

In terms of the overall standings in the championship, Bolt leads with 301 points, 33 more than Walker. Lettenbichler is third with 193.

The twists and turns were numerous and the surprises just kept on coming, the first jolt of the night came during the Akrapovic SuperPole when Billy Bolt (GBR-Husqvarna) was once again beaten by Jonny Walker (GBR-Beta). The Beta rider was ahead of his compatriot by just two hundredths of a second, but it gave him the edge heading into the races. However, as all SuperEnduro fans know. You can never rule out Bolt. Sure enough, at the start of Race 1 Bolt was quick on the gate drop and took his first Airoh Holeshot of the evening. Walkerwas stuck in traffic and lost a few places on his main rival. Manuel Lettenbichler (GER-KTM) also got off to a good start and momentarily slotted into second behind Bolt, until Walker fought back to take the spot. The German rider then suffered his first crash of the night while trying to chase the two riders ahead of him, this opened the door for Diogo Vieira (POR-GASGAS), and the Portuguese rider was in for a big night, moving into a strong third in the race and never looking back. At the front, Billy Bolt appeared to be on for a trouble-free run to the finish line but there was huge drama in store for the championship leader… 

While the Brit was closing in to lap Lettenbichler, the KTM rider dropped his bike in the matrix. The triple World Champion had no choice but to spectacularly leap over the stricken German and his machine – providing one of the most dramatic images of the 2024 season! The factory Husqvarna rider scared himself by falling heavily on his already injured left leg, but both riders rejoined the race. Despite the pain, Bolt went on to win Race 1 ahead of Walker and Vieira.

In the final race of the night, Billy Bolt confirmed that his big fall and long-standing injury were not going to hold him back. This time out it was a rejuvenated Jonny Walker who took the Airoh Holeshot in front of his compatriot and Lettenbichler. For Diogo Vieira the last attack of the night was disastrous, the Portuguese rider fell in the first metres of the race, and again in the matrix as he was trying to recoup. But with the idea of a maiden podium on his mind, he launched an incredible comeback. From last place he patiently overtook his opponents one by one and climbed back to a respectable sixth place. A position sufficient to guarantee him his first MotoZ FIM Enduro World Championship podium. Elsewhere, the last race was a little less eventful than the previous two, Bolt enjoyed another victory ahead of Walker and Lettenbichler. It’s a fifth victory in five Grand Prix for the three-time World Champion who now has one hand on the title. The Husqvarna rider celebrated on the overall podium with Jonny Walker  and a euphoric Diogo Vieira.

Billy Bolt is on a roll and won again in the SuperEnduro, in what was the fourth round of the category’s world championship in Cluj (Romania). The British once again beat everyone, in the first time the BT Arena has hosted a round in this category.

Bolt leads the championship over Jonny Walker and Manuel Lettenbichler, who are the best up until this moment.

The fourth round of the 2024 MotoZ FIM SuperEnduro World Championship visited the BT Arena in Cluj, Romania for the first time. The track was something else with half the Romanian forest indoors and a mousetrap of a layout which riders objected to and alterations were made. The problem was so many logs did not give a moment to catch breath for the ‘gladiators’, especially in the complicated corners, where trunks arranged at an angle were a nightmare. Trials bikes would have been better.

The story of the night is carbon copy of the previous round where, despite not being at 100% after damaging his knee two weeks ago in Riesa, the world championship leader Billy Bolt pulled off the overall, leaving his rivals to reflect on another missed opportunity.

Like round three, the battle with Jonny Walker was intense for three races on the night but Bolt came out winner twice to Walker’s one and the champion is clearly in no mood to let pain prevent his championship campaign.

Bolt and Walker have so far shared the Superpole results in France, Poland and Germany, before reaching this mousetrap track of Cluj. In the event both made mistakes and it was the Swede Eddie Karlsson who gave the surprise of the night with a best time of 35.218 seconds, followed by Mani Lettenbichler and Diogo Vieira, with the two favorites, Bolt and Walker, in an unexpected P4 and P7 respectively.

Both had choked their way through the corner of logs before the finish line and it would prove to be a contentious part of the track all night.

With the best position on the grid for Karlsson, the Swede briefly led the first final of the Prestige category but the pack hunted him down and he progressively lost steam. The world championship leader took the lead ahead of Walker and Rieju’s new signing, Will Hoare. But Jonny put his rival under pressure and when Bolt got stuck again in the ‘cursed corner’, Walker took the opportunity to overtake and made his way to victory, ahead of Bolt and Lettenbichler, after the Red Bull KTM rider worked his way through.

The second race, with the usual reverse grid order, began with Will Hoare as the leader, although Walker soon took advantage of a mistake by his compatriot to take first place followed by Bolt, Mitchell Brightmore, Domink Olszowy and Lettenbichler halfway through.

Shortly after, a mistake by Walker allowed Billy to get closer and when Bolt launched his attack on the last lap to grab the lead, the win was his. Walker crossed the finish line two seconds behind, with Olszowy in third place, followed by Mitch and Mani fifth after several hook-ups.

Come the final moto, the dizzying pace of Walker and Bolt allowed them to get rid of Karlsson, Lettenbichler and Hoare with relative ease in the first laps. The Husqvarna rider took his opportunity to overtake Beta rival, opening a gap for the lead and in the end take a comfortable victory.

Thanks to his fourth victory of the season, Bolt establishes himself as the leader of the championship with 239 points, with Walker in second position, 19 points behind his compatriot and Lettenbichler, further down the table, with 153.

In the Junior category, Suff Sella and Ashton Brightmore again looked favourites in their title battle but it was the British rider’s night on the tight logs, his trials background shining it seemed.

Brightmore took the first moto from Sella and the second, despite the reverse grid start order.

The third Junior final was a repeat with Sella and Brightmore in the first two positions, followed by Fernández and Schmusser. But this time around the positions were reveresed betwent the top two, after the Israeli took advantage of Ash’s mistakes.

The results sees the championship leader’s plate back in the hands of Brightmore, three points ahead of Sella in the general standings.

As in the previous event in Germany, the Romanian Grand Prix also featured the European Championship where the Spanish Xavi León took another double win ahead of the American Dustin Mccarthy and the Polish rider Maciej Wieckowski.

Jonny Walker left Krakow with the second place in the overall standings after not being able to beat Billy Bolt in the overall of the SuperEnduro in Poland. However, he was happy with the way he performed.

Looking at the way he rode on the second round of the world championship, the british said: ‘It was good, I felt like I had strong pace, I didn’t make too many mistakes either. Second overall again but I’m looking forward to Germany, especially after beating Billy in one of the races!’.

He is having a interesting battle with his compatriot, as he noted: ‘We had some nice battles and it’s always fair racing between us two, plus it was a nice show for the fans. The track was difficult but it was really good fun. I can go for the Christmas break feeling good’.

Krakow hosted the second round of the SuperEnduro world championship and Billy Bolt once again took centre stage with two victories. The rider admitted that he was happy with the way he was riding, and that he could now move on to a happier Christmas season.

‘To be honest, after the second race I think everyone was expecting me to be pretty angry but I was happy with my riding. I held back a bit for the reverse grid start but then I took too long to get to the front – suddenly I realised Jonny was four bikes in front and it was too late really’, the rider told quoted on the championship website.

– But overall, it went really well, I changed my line in the rocks and that helped me in the final race.

And added: ‘I can go and enjoy Christmas with another overall win, big love to everyone!’.

Billy Bolt is having a great start of the SuperEnduro season and now, at Krakow, for the second GP of the season has proved to be the strongest on track, beating Jonny Walker for (just) four points.

The the first race the rider aboard a Husqvarna got to beat his compatriot for 8.857s, taking then the win, while Will Hoare finished in the last step of the podium. Manuel Lettenbichler and home rider Dominik Olszowy closed to top five.

In the second race the roles have changed as Walker on his Beta won vs Bolt, with Hoare again to secure the third position, in front of Olszowy and Lettenbichler.

In the next race Bolt returned to be the fastest and, beating Walker now for a much bigger gap of 14s, as Lettenbichler got his best race of the weekend, finishing third. Hoare was fourth and Alfredo Gomez had his best race too, in fifth.

In the overall Bolt was the best of this GP of Poland, with 60 points added, four more than Walker, with Hoare to add 43.

The first round of the SuperEnduro world championship is over, where Billy Bolt beat everyone and everything in a dominating way with a total of 63 points scored. In Lievin, the Husqvarna Factory Racing rider had no-one close to his level, with Jonny Walker the closest.

This was the first time since 2017 that France had hosted a round of the championship, and Bolt did no less on his return and set the fastest time in the Akrapovic SuperPole.

In the first round of the night, he took the holeshot and thus took control of the race. Eddie Karlsson (Husqvarna) made a remarkable start, taking second place ahead of Jonny Walker (Beta) before being pushed back by the briton, who was determined not to be overtaken by Bolt. Fighting for the top positions were Dominik Olszowy (Rieju), Alfredo Gomez (Rieju) and the returning Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM). There was no change in the lead until the finish line, however, securing victory ahead of Walker, while Olszowy took the final podium place.

Despite Bolt’s dominance, there were other standouts, including the portuguese Diogo Vieira (GASGAS), who took the holeshot in the second race, but even so Vieira was eventually overtaken by the top names in the championship, with Bolt winning once again and ahead of Walker, while Gomez was third.

In the final race, Bolt once again stood out to take another victory, for the third time, with Walker second and Will Hoare third.
