The 2025 Kawasaki ZX-6R will be homologated by the manufacturer to compete in the World Supersport Championship – more accurately reflecting the production bike available to the general public.

The homologation process is underway, with technical details sent to the authorities, as well as the availability of production models to carry out performance and power checks.

The engine has a displacement of 636 cubic centimeters, an increase from the current 599 cc, which will bring the competition ZX-6R closer to the production model. Power and torque will also increase.

With this update, Kawasaki aims to ensure the Ninja’s competitiveness in the mid-displacement sector. Steve Guttridge, Race Planning Manager at Kawasaki Motors Europe, stated:

– We regard this as a logical process not only to provide a competitive machine on track for our official team, Puccetti Kawasaki Racing, for their 2025 WorldSSP assault but also to align the paddock presence in WorldSSP with the machines on display in dealer showrooms for a new sales season. As soon as the homologation is confirmed we can concentrate on the final development and approval of any updated items within an accompanying racing kit parts programme as well as informing and updating other Kawasaki teams who also race in championships aligned with the FIM homologation.
