In an electrifying display at Paris La Defense Arena, Cooper Webb emerged victorious on Night 1 of the Paris Supercross SX1 (450cc) division, showcasing skill, resilience, and consistency. Webb’s performance, bolstered by a strong showing across all events, edged out fierce competition from Malcolm Stewart and a dramatic twist involving Jett Lawrence.

Key Highlights of the Night

  1. Webb’s Clutch Finish
    • Moto 1: Webb started strong, securing third place in the opening race.
    • Moto 2: Webb capitalized on a chaotic second moto, narrowly defeating Stewart by just two-tenths of a second to claim victory.
    • Super Pole: His second-place finish added crucial points to his overall tally, giving him the edge needed to clinch the overall win.
  2. Malcolm Stewart’s Consistency
    • Stewart displayed remarkable steadiness throughout the evening, finishing second in both motos and third in the Super Pole competition. His consistency placed him second overall, narrowly missing the top spot.
  3. Jett Lawrence’s Heartbreak
    • The reigning champion and Moto 1 winner, Lawrence seemed poised for a clean sweep before disaster struck in Moto 2. A crash while lapping another rider damaged his bike, forcing him to retire with just two laps remaining. Despite the setback, Lawrence’s dominance in Moto 1 and the Super Pole secured him a fifth-place overall finish.
  4. Dylan Ferrandis’s Steady Climb
    • With two fourth-place finishes in the motos and fourth in the Super Pole, Ferrandis rounded out the podium, showcasing consistency that narrowly placed him ahead of Hunter Lawrence.
  5. Hunter Lawrence’s Ups and Downs
    • Hunter’s evening started strong with a fifth-place in Super Pole and a podium finish in Moto 2. However, a crash in the second moto dashed his hopes for overall contention, leaving him in fifth place overall.

Final Standings – Night 1 SX1 (450cc):

  1. Cooper Webb: Consistency and strategic racing delivered the overall win.
  2. Malcolm Stewart: Reliable and steady, just missing the top step.
  3. Dylan Ferrandis: A solid showing to claim the final podium spot.
  4. Hunter Lawrence: Moments of brilliance overshadowed by Moto 2 misfortune.
  5. Jett Lawrence: Early dominance undone by an untimely crash.

Looking Ahead:

As the riders prepare for Night 2, all eyes will be on Cooper Webb to see if he can maintain his form and on Jett Lawrence for a potential redemption story. The stakes remain high as the Paris Supercross continues to deliver thrilling action and fierce competition.
