The testing day in Barcelona marked Fermín Aldeguer’s debut in MotoGP. The new Gresini rider finished 20th, but the primary focus was on adapting rather than lap times.

When asked if he is ready to compete for the title of best rookie in 2025, the Spaniard replied: ‘This is the target, but we have to stay calm and going step by step’.

Aldeguer also highlighted the positive sensations he experienced with the Ducati Desmosedici GP24: ‘It was a very good day, because the feeling with the bike was incredible from the first lap. Starting like this is very good’.

On the testing day, Aldeguer was the fastest of the three rookies, finishing just ahead of Ai Ogura (Trackhouse/Aprilia) by 0.382s. Somkiat Chantra (LCR Honda) placed 23rd.
