As 2025 kicks off, motorcycle racing fans are revving their engines for a season packed with breakneck speeds, combustible rivalries, and picture-perfect tracks that’ll leave you on the edge of your seat. Two-wheeled thrill-seekers, rejoice!  Imagine the roar of the crowd, the flash of cameras, and the air electric with anticipation – that’s what’s in store for 2025’s most unmissable competitions! Join us as we explore the phenomenal line-up, shining a light on the amazing locations that’ll bring these epic events to life.

1. MotoGP World Championship

No list of major motorcycle events is complete without MotoGP, the pinnacle of motorcycle racing. In 2025, MotoGP will again feature elite riders from around the world competing across 20 circuits, with fan favorites like Marc Márquez, Fabio Quartararo, and Francesco Bagnaia expected to dominate headlines. Each race is a battle of skill and speed, where bikes capable of exceeding 220 mph zip through circuits that are as technically challenging as they are historic.

This year, the season is expected to feature some additional surprises. A tentative schedule shows traditional stops in places like Assen in the Netherlands, Mugello in Italy, and of course, the high-octane Twin Ring Motegi in Japan. In 2024, MotoGP recorded an astounding average of over 150 million viewers per race, and with new broadcast innovations planned, those numbers may soar even higher in 2025.

One highlight to watch for? The race at the newly redesigned Losail International Circuit in Qatar. Known for its night race under floodlights, it’s one of the most visually stunning tracks, where the speeds and split-second decisions define the contest. But keep in mind that USTVGO has recently stopped working. You should find USTVGO replacements if you used this service. And here is a list of decent services for watching different sports.

2. Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy)

The Isle of Man TT is not just a race; it’s a spectacle. Known for being one of the most dangerous races in the world, this legendary competition is set for June 2025. Riders hurtle through narrow roads lined with stone walls, trees, and houses on the small island between Ireland and Great Britain, where speeds regularly exceed 130 mph.

For over 100 years, the TT has challenged riders’ courage and skill. Recent years have seen technology help improve safety, but the TT remains as challenging as ever. In 2024, the lap record on the 37.73-mile course was set at an average speed of 135.4 mph by Peter Hickman, a staggering feat given the course’s treacherous twists and turns. Will we see that record broken in 2025?

The TT has an allure like no other—fans can get closer to the action than almost anywhere else, and the lineup of bikes, from powerful Superstocks to custom-built machines, ensures that the event remains unpredictable and full of edge-of-the-seat moments.

3. World Superbike Championship (WSBK)

The World Superbike Championship, often abbreviated as WSBK, offers a unique twist by pitting motorcycles closer to those available to the public than the prototype bikes of MotoGP. As the 2025 WSBK season unfolds, it’s shaping up to be a nail-biter. Unlike MotoGP, where the focus is often on individual riders, WSBK’s team dynamics and varied racing formats across double-race weekends add layers of strategy.

In 2024, Ducati continued its reign with Alvaro Bautista, but competitors Yamaha and Kawasaki are expected to unveil new machines that could change the game. Races are scheduled across classic tracks like Donington Park in the UK, Phillip Island in Australia, and Misano in Italy.

The WorldSBK also saw a rise in viewership and attendance, growing by nearly 10% in 2024. There has also been a rise in overseas fans, as evidenced by VeePN VPN statistics, which indicate a multiple increase in viewers. The continued growth reflects fans’ loyalty to the series, especially in regions like Europe and Asia, where Superbike culture is strong.

4. Dakar Rally

Not limited to a single circuit, the Dakar Rally is a 5,000-mile endurance test across brutal deserts, mountains, and terrains where mechanical resilience and mental stamina are as important as speed. Scheduled for January 2025 in Saudi Arabia, the Dakar Rally attracts riders willing to push their limits, battling through the harshest environments on Earth. Rally enthusiasts regard Dakar as the ultimate adventure race.

The motorcycles in this rally are custom-built to handle extreme conditions—think sand dunes, rocky paths, and endless miles of desert landscape. Unlike other competitions, riders are out there alone, relying on navigation skills as much as racing instincts. The 2024 edition saw a record number of entries, with over 500 participants across various categories.

5. Endurance World Championship (EWC)

For those who love seeing how far riders and machines can go, the Endurance World Championship (EWC) remains unmissable. Scheduled races like the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans and the Suzuka 8 Hours in Japan are tests of stamina and teamwork. The 24 Heures Motos, in particular, offers a unique experience—watching bikes roar through the night under floodlights adds a surreal intensity to the competition.

Conclusion

The biggest motorcycle competitions in 2025 will offer fans a lineup of unforgettable races and challenges. Whether it’s the adrenaline-fueled thrill of MotoGP, the daunting courage needed for the Isle of Man TT, or the relentless endurance of the Dakar Rally, each competition has its own unique allure. For anyone who lives for the thrill of two wheels, 2025 will be a year to remember.
