Although he never competed in the World Superbike Championship, Andrea Dovizioso is an avid follower of the category. He was highly impressed by the journey that led Toprak Razgatlioglu to the 2024 title with ROKiT BMW.
The Turkish rider arrived, saw, and conquered in his switch to the German manufacturer – that hadn’t been consistently competing for podiums until last year. Dovizioso told the championship’s official website:
– Toprak and BMW did something special and crazy. For sure, BMW has improved, but Toprak I think showed how strong he his, how fast he is, because last year he did something really good with Yamaha, and this year again with BMW. It was nice to see him at that level with a different brand.
The former rider believes that this year’s champions could be even stronger in 2025: ‘I think now Toprak and BMW will become a bit stronger next year, so it will be a bit more difficult for their competitors. But, anyway, the battle at the top is always really good’.
