MX2 had another round this weekend in Flanders and with two distinct race winners: Kay de Wolf and Simon Laengenfelder.

In the first race of the class the winner was the championship leader, de Wolf (Nestaan Husqvarna Factory), who got the better of Rick Elzinga (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory), +4.057s, and Camden MC Lellan (Monster Energy Triumph). Mikkel Haarup (Monster Energy Triumph) was fourth and Lucas Coenen (Nestaan Husqvarna Factory) rounded out the top five.

The second race of the day in the category followed, with different results. Laengenfelder (Red Bull GASGAS Factory) won this time, after being eighth (!) in the first race, with de Wolf again in a good position, finishing second. Liam Everts (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) also improved significantly and came in third.

Rounding out the top five was the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory duo, Elzinga and Karlis Reisulis. Note also a less accomplished performance from Coenen, who after finishing fifth finished sixth.

With 47 points, Wolf is increasingly leading the championship, where he now has 683 points. Coenen is second with 618 and saw his opponent gain ground on him after scoring just 29 in Lommel, while Laengenfelder is third with 606.
