Zero Motorcycles, a leader in electric motorcycles, has partnered with White Motorcycle Concepts (WMC) to develop an advanced aero prototype.

WMC specializes in reducing aerodynamic drag. Through this partnership, the two companies have created a prototype that offers a glimpse into the future of electric motorcycle aerodynamics, aiming to achieve this without compromising practicality or increasing costs for customers.

Founded by Robert White in 2021, WMC is based in Northamptonshire’s Motorsport Valley, home to many Formula 1 teams. Their WMC250EV was designed to break speed records by minimizing the frontal area. It features an aerodynamic duct that channels air through the front, into the middle, and out the rear of the motorcycle, reducing drag without requiring uncomfortable riding positions or movements from the rider.

Now, White Motorcycle Concepts has collaborated with Zero Motorcycles, taking a Zero SR/S and modifying it primarily in terms of fairing design. They incorporated the central duct concept without altering the frame, suspension, or drivetrain. Named the WMCSRS, the bike features a slightly elevated rear section and teardrop-shaped aerodynamic fairings around the fork. There are also two red-colored air ducts positioned above the rear wheel.

Although it remains a prototype, the motorcycle has already been tested both in CFD simulations and in real-world scenarios with aerodynamic sensors. However, it is unclear whether this model will ever go into production or if WMC’s aerodynamic duct concept will be introduced in a mass-market motorcycle.
